Well, after 30 LONG days of running more frequently and much further than I ever have in my entire life, the challenge is over and I won (!!). This was no easy task, let me tell you! Congrats to Smythmeister for being an outstanding competitor and super motivator! Here's the results:

yay! take that smythmeister!
congrats, Kev
go kev -- it's your birthday and we gonna party like it's your birthday! congratulations -- you really piled up the miles. are you stil wearing your nike 360s? do they still have air in them? were they worth the money? are they living up to nike's claim that they're the last pair of running shoes you'll ever need?
in response to your earlier post, i do remember having that runner's high, where you do your regular run, but suddenly realize that you have all this extra energy and so you keep going and going and going.
i remember one run in particular in nyc. i usually ran from my apartment on 174th st down to 125th st and back -- about 5 miles. but one day, i dunno, i got to 125th street and body and soul refused to turn around. i ended up running all the way down to 96th street and back -- an extra 3 miles! i just remember feeling like i could FLY that day.
Thanks, Kath and pdw! I never realized how competitive I am until I signed up for this challenge! Re: the Nike 360s, Pam, I am still loving them and they still have air in them. I even bought a new pair of the 360 II's with some cool artic camouflage pattern. Of course, as soon as I bought them, Nike released the 360 III's (but they don't look like they changed much). I haven't had a single pain in my knees or shins after all these extra miles I've been running so they must be doing something right! : ) You can't beat the cushioning of these shoes. It's weird to hear people say that the air pouches popped in their 360s. I wonder what the heck they were doing, running on a bed of nails or on lava rocks?? The soles of my first pair bare show any wear at all and they still feel like they did when I first bought them 1.5 years ago. My only complaint is that they're a little heavier than other shoes and they're not the best for running fast. Plus, when they're not on sale, the 360's are very expensive ($140-$160).
hmmm -- i've been having so much trouble with my knees the past 6-8 months that i've been afraid to try jogging again. but after reading your glowing review, maybe i'll give it a try wearing my 360s. i'll wait until the spring, when i'll be ready to run outside. i'm less likely to reinjure myself running outside, because i can slow down and adjust to the terrain, whereas on the treadmill, i've GOT to run at the pace i've set, and sometimes i don't have enough time to adjust how i plant my foot.
